Clubmark Accreditation

What it means for the Cricket Club

The England and Wales Cricket Board's (The ECB) Clubmark is an accreditation scheme which shows that a club is sustainable, well run and provides the right environment for it's members.

It means the Club is recognised as being a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages, as well as assuring parents and carers that they are choosing the right option for their children / young adults.

A survey of clubs who accredited in 2018 showed that 98% of them said that the scheme is important to them and they will continue with accreditation in the future, and 60% agreed it had improved them as a club.

In 2021, the Safe Hands Management System (SHMS) which helps clubs with understanding and meeting their safeguarding responsibilities was introduced. The system is a key part of obtaining Clubmark accreditation, in addition to the Club's development plans for the future, together with governance documents, as required under the UK Sport's Code for Sports Governance which are also continually reviewed.

To obtain Clubmark accreditation the Club had to have the following in place:

- Club Development Plan

- Club Constitution

- Committee structure together with regular meetings

- Accounts and finances

- Adoption of the ECB Safe Hands Policy and Anti-Discrimination Code

- Club Insurance

- Compliance on the SHMS

We are pleased to announce that we have met all the above criteria and are now Clubmark Accredited
